Brett and Zoe's story began in 2019 at Kutztown University. They had an illustration class together and did not know many people in the class, but were familiar with each other through their major. Brett had an open seat next to him and Zoe asked if she could sit there. Over the following months they began talking and found out they had similar interests in art, music, travel, and nature. They went on a number of dates including a library date that was almost disastrous. Brett was running very late, and did not text or call (because he was driving), and Zoe thought she had been stood up. It turns out Brett did not call because he was driving to 3 different stores to find Zoe's favorite flavor of ice cream for their date.

They navigated the challenges of covid throughout their Junior and Senior semesters, and knew that if they could make it through that, they could make it through anything. A year after college, Zoe and Brett moved in together to begin the next chapter of their life.

Zoe and Brett would fill this chapter with stories of travel, spending time with family, creative works of art, and hiking adventures. It was during a trip to Acadia National Park in Maine, where Brett would muster up the courage to propose to Zoe. During a hike at the beautiful Jordan Pond, Brett pulled Zoe aside on the pebble beach where he would get down on one knee and ask her to be his wife. After a brief moment of shock, Zoe excitedly said YES!
